  1. Download RAILXUpdater.exe — the plain file, nothing to unpack. The zip with the how-to and the hash is one link away instead.
  2. Run RAILXUpdater.exe. If your browser asks whether to keep the download, choose Keep — that is a new-site warning, not a verdict on the file.
  3. If Windows says "Windows protected your PC", click More info → Run anyway. It appears once per machine.

Why the warning exists at all: the launcher is not code-signed yet, so Windows has no publisher to show next to it. Signing is planned; until then the hash above is how you know the file is ours. The launcher verifies everything it installs against a signed manifest, so a tampered channel build cannot reach the app.
